  • Does my child need to be Catholic and a member of your parish?

    No — students of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome at STA! As a Catholic school, each student will be expected to participate in daily prayer and religious education. Monthly mass is celebrated with students and teachers, and all family members are invited to attend.

  • What makes an Independence Mission School different?

    Independence Mission Schools are a network of independent, Catholic schools dedicated to educating your child for a successful future. We do this by providing a high-quality academic program centered in Catholic values of charity, prayer, respect for everyone, and development of strong families.

  • Do you offer financial assistance?

    Yes! STA is a tuition-assisted school, with families receiving scholarships based on need. For more information, visit our Tuition & Financial Aid page.

  • Are SEPTA Transpasses available to students?

    Transpasses are available to 7th and 8th graders who live more than 1.5 miles away and qualify through the School District of Philadelphia Department of Transportation.

  • Do you offer after care?

    Yes, after care services are provided through DiSilvestro Playground After School Program from 2:45 pm to 6:00 pm daily. Students will be picked up from St. Thomas Aquinas at dismissal.   • Do you offer a breakfast/ lunch program?

    Yes. All students qualify for free breakfast and lunch.

  • Do you offer special assistance for learning disabilities?

    Yes. Although we do not offer a Special Education program, we have a tremendous staff trained in methods of differentiating instruction. Please contact the Principal at 215-334-0878 if you have specific questions.

  • When will I find out if we have received financial aid?

    As an Independence Mission School, we strive to deliver a high-quality education for an affordable price. All students must be enrolled and accepted before a decision on financial aid will be made. Our enrollment specialists will be able to give you a close estimate of the monthly amount you can expect to pay during your school tour.

  • How old does my child need to be for Kindergarten?

    Students must be 5-years-old before September 1.
